A state's governor is appointed in accordance with Article 153 of the Indian Constitution. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, accepted the resignations of two governors and appointed new ones in twelve states and one Union Territory. Governor B D Mishra of Arunachal Pradesh has been named L-G of Ladakh, while Governor Ramesh Bais of Jharkhand is now the governor of Maharashtra.
