Safari tourists to Karnataka's Western Ghats have been flocking to the Bhadra Tiger Reserve. In this environmentally delicate area, visitors must exercise caution. The reserve, which was designated as India's 25th Project Tiger site in 1998, is home to a sizable tiger population as well as elephants and a variety of other wildlife. Teak and medicinal plants are among the dry-deciduous to semi-evergreen vegetation found there, which is drained by the Bhadra River. The tiger reserves in Karnataka also include Dandeli-Anshi, Bandipur, Nagarhole, and Biligiriranga.
