India's Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) service went live on December 30, 2016. National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), an Indian company, developed the payment application. With the help of the app, users can conduct quick and easy transactions using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) announced in November 2022 that the BHIM App would be released under an open source license. The BHIM app recently celebrated its sixth anniversary.
