Chief Minister Pema Khandu officially opened Bichom, the 27th district of Arunachal Pradesh. The Arunachal Pradesh (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which was approved by the state assembly in February, created the districts of Keyi Panyor and Bichom. A major turning point for the area, Bichom was formed by dividing West and East Kameng into 27 villages from West Kameng and 28 from East Kameng.
