The Sub-Surface Killer (SSK) Class submarine "INS Shankush" is currently undergoing a Medium Refit with Life Certification (MRLC) as per a contract recently signed by the Ministry of Defense with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in Mumbai. The project will cost a total of Rs. 2725 Cr. With the first HDW-class submarine's upgrade currently underway and scheduled to be finished by August, this is the second HDW-class submarine to undergo MRLC.
