In Meghalaya, researchers found a brand-new species of cicada they named 'Butterfly Cicadas.' Cicadas are sound-producing insects with two pairs of wings, compound eyes, and ocelli that are members of the Cicadidae family. Males use vibrating membranes to produce loud noises, and they measure 2 to 5 cm. Usually, females lay their eggs in woody plants. There are more than 3,000 species of cicadas, most of which are found in tropical habitats like deserts, grasslands, and forests.
