Part of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's national academy for music, dance, and drama, the "Dakshin Bharat Sanskritik Kendra" in Hyderabad will be opened by the former vice president of India and union minister for culture. It was founded in 1953 with the intention of protecting and advancing India's rich cultural legacy. Under the Ministry of Culture, the Akademi functions independently, with a Chairman chosen by the President to serve a five-year term. It is entirely supported by the government and works to enhance Indian culture by coordinating regional Academies, fostering research, and encouraging teamwork.
