Former Commonwealth Games gold medallist Narsingh Pancham Yadav was appointed Chairman of the Wrestling Federation of India's (WFI) Athletes Commission in April of 2024. His election concluded the procedure that United World Wrestling (UWW) had mandated. Before the federation's suspension could be lifted, the international sports body had demanded that WFI, under the leadership of Sanjay Singh, set up the commission to hear wrestlers' complaints.
