Members of parliament have selected Feleti Teo, the former attorney general, as Tuvalu's new prime minister following an election that brought attention to the country's relationship with Taiwan. Without a vote, 15 lawmakers unanimously elected Teo, the only candidate. The pro-Taiwan predecessor, Kausea Natano, lost his seat in the January 26 election. Later this week, Teo is expected to be sworn in and appointed to the cabinet.
