The first-ever "Global Symposium on Farmers' Rights" (GSFR) took place at the ICAR Convention Center in New Delhi under the auspices of India's President Droupadi Murmu. The Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (International Treaty), working with various agricultural organizations in India, is hosting this event. Notably, India's Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights (PPVFR) Act from 2001 was the first to include farmers' rights.
