The Karnataka government introduced the Gruha Jyothi free power program, which aims to give every household in the state free electricity up to 200 units. The Gruha Jyothi scheme will benefit about 2.14 crore households. 1.41 crore people have already signed up for the program. Applications are also being accepted for the Griha Laxmi scheme, which will provide all female BPL family heads with a 2,000 rupee allowance.
