One of the four recipients of the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Award, Asia's Nobel Prize, is an oncologist from Assam named Ravi Kannan. He is the director of the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC) in Assam and a recipient of the fourth-highest civilian honor in India, the Padma Shri.
