The Indian Sign Language Research and Training Center (ISLRTC) was established in 2011 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment as an independent center of IGNOU. On the International Day of Sign Languages, ISLRTC released a comprehensive dictionary with 10,000 ISL terms as well as an online self-learning course in Indian Sign Language. It launched 260 signs for financial terms in ISL as part of an initiative.
