A recent study by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) suggests that Punjab, India, may one day become a desert because of climate change. The lack of necessary rain, a lack of crop diversification, and indiscriminate groundwater pumping are the causes. The state is currently known for its bumper agricultural output.
