In order to increase the country's use of solar energy, the government of Bangladesh signed a contract with the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The agreement must be put into effect by December 2026. Bangladesh has set a goal of using renewable energy sources to produce 40% of its total energy by 2041. By the end of 2030, it hopes to produce 4000 MW of solar energy.
