For the fourth consecutive month, the wholesale price-based inflation rate in July was negative (-)1.36%. This is because fuel prices are declining, despite rising food prices. Since April, the inflation rate based on the wholesale price index (WPI) has been declining; in June, it was (-)4.12%. It was 14.07% in July of last year.
