The Earth System Model, an open-source program that integrates the interactions of the atmosphere, ocean, land, ice, and biosphere, is being developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. It provides accurate climate change forecasts by utilizing numerical weather prediction and data assimilation. The project seeks to improve long-term studies, predict impacts, and improve climate forecasts in partnership with the Centre for Climate Change Research. The Monsoon Convection, Clouds and Climate Change scheme is funding this model, which is expected to be completed by 2025 and cost ?192.28 crores.
