The International Day for Biosphere Reserves was established in 2022 during the 41st Session of the General Conference of UNESCO. November 3rd will be observed globally on that day. Protected areas designated for the preservation of flora and fauna are known as biosphere reserves. For their livelihood activities, humans also rely on these protected areas. There are 134 countries with 738 biosphere reserves, and India has 18 biosphere reserves that have been notified.
