It was recently discovered by scientists that Leaf Litter Frogs make ultrasonic noises to ward off predators. These inaudible high-frequency screams are a survival tactic used by the most prevalent species of frogs in forest communities. Found in low vegetation and leaf litter in the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest. With 64mm, females are the largest. Even with their unusual adaptation, the IUCN lists them as 'Least Concern.' Human hearing is not capable of processing ultrasonic waves.
