Rugs called Namdas are only produced in Jammu and Kashmir. They are made by pressing wool fibers together under pressure with water and soap, then embroidering the resulting fabric. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) under Skill India's Pilot Project is providing training in the endangered Namda craft to nearly 2200 people from six districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
