The goal of this national forest certification program is to support agroforestry and sustainable forest management in the nation by providing voluntary third-party certification. The program includes certification for chain of custody, tree outside forest management, and forest management. The council responsible for overseeing the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme will be the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Council.
