From German museums and universities, 95 Indigenous New Zealanders' remains as well as artifacts and cultural treasures have been brought back to New Zealand. Te Papa, New Zealand's national museum, welcomed the ancestors of 95 Maori and Moriori people, including six toi moko, or mummified tattooed heads from the Maori culture.
