The FIDE World Chess Championship Match is scheduled to take place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, in April and May of 2023. Magnus Carlsen, the reigning world champion, will not participate in the 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship. To become the new World Champion, Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren will compete.
