The ISRO is scheduled to launch the NVS-01 satellite on May 29. It will be launched on board the GSLV Mk-II and is a navigation satellite. It seeks to improve the NavIC navigation constellation of seven satellites. The NVS-01 satellite will take over the constellation's IRNSS-1G satellite's navigational functions. It will continue to have messaging and communication capabilities.
