Based on production data from the Food and Agriculture Organization Corporate Statistical Database, India is the world's top producer, accounting for 24 percent of the world's milk production in 2021–2022. Between the years 2014–15 and 2021–22, India's milk production increased by 51 percent, reaching 22 crore tonnes in the latter year.
