In preparation for the next United Nations Climate Change Conference, the United Arab Emirates has opened the largest single-site solar power plant in history. About 200,000 homes can be powered by the 2-gigawatt Al Dhafra Solar Photovoltaic Independent Power Project, which is 35 kilometers from Abu Dhabi city. It is anticipated that the plant will replace 2.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year. Additionally, the project supports the UAE's Net Zero 2050 objective.
