In accordance with Section 133A and other provisions of the IT Act, 1961, the IT Department recently conducted surveys at the BBC's offices. The Act permits the IT Department to carry out surveys in order to obtain confidential data. An authorized officer may enter any place of business, profession, or charitable activity under their jurisdiction to confirm accounting books and other documents as well as stocks, cash, and other assets under Section 133A of the IT Act.
