Off the coast of Goa, the Tejas light combat aircraft (LCA) successfully conducted a test firing of the indigenous Astra air-to-air missile. At a height of roughly 20,000 feet, the aircraft successfully launched the missile. Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Research Centre Imarat (RCI), and other DRDO laboratories have designed and developed the cutting-edge BVR air-to-air missile to engage and destroy highly maneuverable supersonic aerial targets.
