For the wholesale segment of its central bank digital currency in the interbank call money market, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched a pilot program. Nine banks, comprising four public and five private sector banks, are reportedly taking part in the e-rupee call money pilot. The government securities market, which was launched in November of last year, was the first use case for testing wholesale CBDC, and this is the second.
