CoViNet is a global network of laboratories dedicated to coronavirus surveillance in humans, animals, and the environment, which was started by the World Health Organization (WHO). Its objectives are to improve risk assessment, inform WHO policies, and identify and track newly emerging coronaviruses, including possibly novel strains. CoViNet will improve surveillance capacities to track MERS-CoV and other major coronaviruses, especially in low- and middle-income nations, enhancing public health readiness worldwide.
