In Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister opened the first Oil Palm Processing Mill operated by Mission Palm Oil. The National Mission for Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) was established in 2021 with the goal of increasing the production of crude palm oil and oil palm cultivation. With an expenditure of Rs. 11,040 crore, the scheme, which focuses on the North East and Andaman-Nicobar Islands, aims to significantly increase oil palm area and productivity by 2025–2026. A number of parties will carry out NMEO-OP.
