Even though most nations have passed laws promoting gender equality, there is still a sizable disparity between men and women in terms of legal rights and protections, according to the World Bank's recently released Women, Business, and the Law Index. India received a score of 74.4 out of 100 in the index measuring a working woman's life cycle. According to the report, Indian working women are not treated equally with Indian men under the laws governing their pay and pension.
