The forecast for the growth of the global merchandise trade by the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been reduced to 0.8%. Less than the 1.7 percent increase anticipated in April is projected. The institution reported that its 2024 growth projection of 3.3 percent is unchanged from its earlier projection. The WTO forecasts that the real global GDP will increase by 2.5 percent in 2024 and 2.6 percent in 2023 at market exchange rates.
