When agencies implementing central government-funded highway projects awarded projects, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India discovered irregularities. The cost of construction has increased from the initially approved Rs 18.2 crore per km to Rs 251 crore per km as a result of the NHAI's decision to choose an elevated carriageway on the expressway's section through Haryana. The expressway in question is being built by NHAI as part of the Bharatmala program.
