The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced an increase in transaction limits for offline small value digital payments from the previous cap of 200 to 500. These can only be made face-to-face using any method or tool, including cards, wallets, and mobile devices. The maximum amount for an offline payment transaction is 500, but a payment instrument can never exceed 2,000 at any given time.
