The International Monetary Fund (IMF) executive board has approved a proposal to increase member quotas by 50% in relation to their current amounts. The board of governors will now review and implement the proposal as part of wrapping up the 16th general review of quotas. With a quota of 13,114.4 million special drawing rights (SDR), or 2.75 percent of the total, India is currently the eighth-largest quota-holding nation in the IMF.
