A uncommon kind of fish known as the sea lamprey is known to draw blood from its prey. In the Dutch island of Texel, it was just recently spotted. On the island, it was last seen in 2017. Due to its tendency to feed parasitically on its host by sucking their blood, sea lampreys are also referred to as 'vampire fish.'
