With the help of the Mappls App, a navigation tool created by MapMyIndia, Punjab has become the first state in India to map every one of the 784 accident black spots. Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, announced this initiative as a part of the planning for the launching of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's "Sadak Suraksha Force." In order to improve road safety by warning drivers about possible hazards, the Mappls App offers voice alerts in Punjabi regarding blind and black spots in addition to real-time traffic updates. This innovative endeavor represents a major advancement in the state's use of technology to increase traffic safety.
