The Northeast Frontier Railway and the state's transport agency sent the first goods trains from Guwahati to Khongsang Railway Station in Manipur, carrying food grains and other necessities. The newest station on the Jiribam-Imphal new line, Khongsang, was inaugurated in 2022.
