A village called Kongthong in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills recently won the award at the National Tourism Awards 2023. The Union Tourism Ministry presented these prizes. The Homestay Scheme in Meghalaya offers a subsidy of up to 7 lakh rupees per homestay. In the past year, about 300 homestays received approval.
