The first phase of a new bridge over the Zuari River, which will increase connectivity between North Goa and South Goa, was opened by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. In India, the Zuari Bridge is the second-largest cable-stayed bridge after the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai. The bridge is a component of a road project in Goa worth Rs 2,530 crore that spans 13.2 kilometers between the villages of Bambolim and Verna. The new Zuari bridge is being constructed by Dilip Buildcon.
