The Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation percentage in Gujarat's panchayats and urban local bodies has increased from 10% to 27%. The K.S. Jhaveri Commission, which was established in response to a Supreme Court order on the level of OBC quotas in Gujarat in 2022, made recommendations that served as the basis for this decision.
