Assam, in India, is home to Kaziranga National Park, a protected area. There are a lot of one-horned rhinoceroses living there; 2,613 were counted in the 2018 census. Based on a survey carried out in March 2022, the Central government has requested an accurate report on the number of rhinos present in the National Park and Tiger Reserve. An activist had previously discovered the potential for rhino numbers to be inflated.
