In just two months, more than 500 land parcels for tree plantations across ten states were approved by Madhya Pradesh, which is setting the pace for the Green Credit Program. There are 10,000 hectares of designated land. At 954 hectares, MP has the most authorized degraded forest land, followed by Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Assam. Plantations will be carried out by public sector projects in order to obtain green credits. With an emphasis on ecosystem services, the program encourages low-carbon environmental practices that improve the soil, water, and ecosystems in the area.
