Between 2019 and 2021, more than 13.13 lakh girls and women went missing nationwide, with Madhya Pradesh reporting the highest number of cases—nearly two lakh—followed by West Bengal. The data, which was provided by the Union Ministry of Home Ministry (MHA), showed that between 2019 and 2021, 10,61,648 women over the age of 18 and 2,51,430 girls under that age went missing nationwide.
