The Protect Hornbills Project is a neighborhood initiative with the goal of hornbill conservation. The Nyishi Tribe is actively involved in this project. A community-based hornbill conservation program called the Hornbill Nest Adoption Program (HNAP) was launched in 2012. Outside of Pakke Tiger Reserve in Arunachal Pradesh, HNAP operates in the surrounding forests.
