As the Indian Air Force's new vice chief, Air Marshal AP Singh has taken over. In 1984, the Air Marshal was commissioned into the Indian Air Force's fighter stream. He is flown more than 5,000 hours in total. He was Central Air Command's Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief before taking on his current role. The Param Vishisht Seva Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal are both awarded to him.
