In order to provide Ladakh with year-round connectivity, Jammu & Kashmir is building the Zojila Tunnel, which, when finished, will be Asia's longest tunnel. In Jammu and Kashmir, 19 tunnels are being built at a cost of Rs. 25.000 crore, with the Zojila Tunnel serving as the primary one. The 14.15 km tunnel will provide Ladakh with all-weather accessibility and reduce the time it takes to cross the Zojila Pass from three hours to 20 minutes.
