On November 7, 2023, NASA's Curiosity rover celebrated 4,000 Martian days on the planet. August 5, 2012, saw the rover's landing in Mars' Gale Crater. Its goal is to investigate whether microbiological life could have existed on ancient Mars. After nearly 32 kilometers of travel on Mars, the car-sized rover drilled its 39th sample, a rock known as "Sequoia." The rover has dimensions of 10 feet by 9 feet by 7 feet.
