The Maharashtra government announced the name changes for Aurangabad to Chatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv after receiving a letter of support from the Union Home Ministry. The 17th-century marble Bibi ka Maqbara shrine, which is located in Aurangabad, is a Maharashtra state city famous for its Taj Mahal-inspired architecture. Ancient Buddhist shrines cut out of rock can be found in Aurangabad Caves.
